TrophySocket Installation Instructions: A Comprehensive Mounting Trophy Tutorial

MICRO TrophySocket Installation Instructions Tutorial

TrophySocket Installation Instructions: A Step-by-Step Guide for Mounting Your Trophy

Black adjustable tripod mount arm.

TrophySocket Installation Instructions

Tools Needed: a drill or screwdriver and a 7/16” socket attached to your favorite socket driver tool for a smooth installation process.

Package contents: 2 arms, 1 ball, 1 carriage bolt and fitting nut, 2 screws.

1. Begin by connecting the 2 arms and ball (with the hook on the ball facing upward) using the carriage bolt. Do not tighten it just yet.

2. To ensure a secure mounting for your TrophySocket, locate a wall stud in the area where you want to hang your trophy and make 2 marks vertically 4 ¾” apart, ensuring these markings are positioned directly over the wall stud. (We do not recommend using any drywall anchors.)

3. Align the wall mounting slots on your TrophySocket with the vertical markings made in step 2. Use the two screws provided with your drill or screwdriver (not included) to secure your TrophySocket to its new location. (The screws do not need to be overtightened during this step.)

4. It’s now time to mount your euro mount onto the TrophySocket. Locate the “foramen magnum” (the large hole on the back of the skull) and place it on the hook. In rare cases where the antlers of some trophies are too large and obstruct the wall, remove the ball from the arms, insert it into the “foramen magnum” first, and then secure the hook/ball to the arms using the carriage bolt once the trophy is in position.

5. Prepare your 7/16” socket and favorite socket driver, hold your trophy in the desired position and angle, and then tighten the nut/carriage bolt with the 7/16” socket. (Avoid overtightening the nut at this point; it should just be tight enough to hold the trophy’s position.)

6. Step back and admire your trophy. If small adjustments to positioning are necessary, these can usually be made without loosening the clamping nut, provided it hasn’t been overtightened. Once you are satisfied with how your trophy is displayed, tighten the clamping nut an additional ¼ to ½ turn.

SAFETY

Always ensure screws are anchored into a wall stud when following the installation instructions for mounting trophies. Use discretion and careful planning when selecting the location to help minimize the risk of the trophy being knocked off the mount. Keep in mind that the TrophySocket is not designed to be permanently fixed to the skull. Some customers have opted to use a black zip tie through the skull and around the ball as a way to securely fix the skull to the hanger. Remember, do not exceed 15 pounds on the hanger.
